The poem must resist the intelligence
Almost successfully
—Wallace Stevens
Beat a couple of stars
and chop your choice of subatomic particles.
Photons, neutrinos,
electrons and quarks
are all good.
Sauté the particles until softened
then season with a dash of thyme or curry
if you like.
Push the particles aside,
scramble the stars.
Before the stars are completely firm,
mix the particles back in,
stir a little longer.
Remove from heat and serve
with soy and chili sauce
on the side.
To extend the dish, fry leftover moons
or cubed stale planets
with the particles and
before the stars.
